PROJECT – Obscure Amulets album launch

CHALLENGE
AI is a divisive topic amongst creatives, but I consider it a tool that allows me to extend my creative ideas further. Previously, I had only dabbled in Midjourney, so I used the release and promotion of my solo instrumental project, Obscure Amulets, as the impetus for a deep dive into an AI workflow.

CONSIDERATIONS
A unique visual theme for each song: To create four compelling animations to post across social platforms, I experimented with generating four separate series of images in cohesive design styles.

Focused image generation: To successfully and efficiently utilize AI tools, keeping an end result in mind has proven useful. I focused on specific styles, subjects and color palettes for each series of images. Otherwise I could have spent weeks generating endless interesting images!

Developing a workflow: I created large batches of imagery in Midjourney, pushing the limits of what I could even envision, and stumbling upon many “happy accidents” with my bot co-creator. Then I created storyboards for each, so I could determine what sort of camera movement to prompt. I uploaded the static images into Pika Labs and Luma to create short animations, then edited them in Premiere.
